Short & Sweet Cakes

Short & Sweet Cakes are perfect for folks who need something simple, or want to DIY their wedding cake! They do not include consultations, cake samples, fresh flowers, tall tiers, or custom designs.

PRICING

Short & Sweet Cakes are available in two sizes:  2-tiered 25 serving cake for $160; 3-tiered cake to serve 50 for $240.

 

DESIGNS

We offer six basic designs, with a few additional options. This keeps the cost low on these cakes. however, if you are interested in a more complex design, please take a look at the Tiered Wedding Cakes or Tiered Event Cakes!

Tiered cakes will have buttercream, ganache, or fondant (with a buttercream base) frosting on the outside. We cannot use whipped cream or cream cheese for the frosting.

 

DELIVERY

Delivery is $40 for within 10 miles, contingent on our schedule. We do stay to unbox and set up the cake.

 

FLOWERS

We do not include flowers with these cakes.

 

CONSULTATIONS*

We do not offer consultations for these cakes, because they are easy to order over the phone.

DEPOSIT

To secure the date for a Short & Sweet Cake, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit. The balance is due one week before the event date, however you can pay it early if you prefer. We recommend securing the date at least 1-2 months in advance for June - September weddings, and other busy holiday months, as we can book up for some dates. 

 

SAMPLES

We do not include a box of cake samples with these cakes, but you are welcome to call and place and order for samples if you like. A sample box is $40, and it comes with four flavors that you choose from our Tiered Cake Flavors. Samples boxes require at least three days' notice to order, and are paid in advance (when you call to order). We do offer gluten-free, egg-free, and dairy-free options.

Birch Bark

Includes a lightly textured buttercream finish, hand painted birch design, and fondant blossoms. Choose from: white, pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, and lilac.

Includes a smooth buttercream or ganache (dark chocolate) finish, and a border if desired: small pearl (buttercream or ganache), or grosgrain ribbon (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, or brown.)

Half Naked Buttercream

$160 for 2-tiered, 25 serving cake

Includes a smooth, light buttercream finish, and a border if desired. Choose from a buttercream pearl, a buttercream flat ribbon, or grosgrain ribbon (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, or brown.)

Ganache Log Slices

$160 for 2-tiered, 25 serving cake

$240 for 3-tiered, 50 serving cake

Includes a buttercream finish with ganache "bark", chocolate cookie "dirt" around the bottom, and a carved heart with initials (on either tier).

Rustic Ridged Buttercream

$160 for 2-tiered, 25 serving cake

$240 for 3-tiered, 50 serving cake

Includes a rustic ridged buttercream finish, giving a little texture but not too fussy, and looks best without a border. This popular style is great for folks who want something simple and elegant.

Deckled Buttercream

$160 for 2-tiered, 25 serving cake

$240 for 3-tiered, 50 serving cake

Includes a smooth buttercream finish with a deckled edge along the top border, and an optional deckled side edge. A lovely look that is elegant with a touch of rustic feel, and pairs beautifully with fresh flowers or other decorations.

Simple extras that we can add to your cake as a finishing touch.

adding simple ribbons

Ribbon: We carry 1" grosgrain ribbon in several basic colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, and brown. This looks best on a smooth surface (as opposed to a textured finish). Ribbon can be used around the bottom of the tier(s), or around the middle of the tier.

adding your own ribbon

Your own ribbon: If you have a special ribbon you'd like us to use, you can bring it in for us and we will apply it to the cake as a border around the tier(s). For the 2-tiered cake we would need 2 yards (uncut), for the 3-tiered cake we would need 3 yards (uncut). Ribbon must be received 2 days prior to pickup.

No charge.

adding pearls on the sides

Candy pearls: Also known as dragées, these edible candies can be added to the sides of the cake for an elegant finishing touch. We have a few colors: white/pearl, light yellow, light pink, gold, and silver.

$15 for 2-tiered, $20 for 3-tiered.

Numbers: We can add a number made from fondant, on the front of the cake or standing up on the top of the cake. Available colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, brown, cream, gold, or silver.

$10 for one number, $15 for two.

Fondant blossoms: We carry a variety of small fondant blossoms in different colors. We can add a sprinkling of blossoms to your cake! Available colors: pastels such as pink, green, orange, blue, and white.

$10 for 2-tiered cake, $15 for 3-tiered cake.
